How to use hand tools

Note: This is an option available exclusively on the Steora Cyclo smart bench.

A set of hand tools on the Steora Cyclo smart bench provides great help for quick fixes on bikes and other micromobility vehicles. All tools are created from stainless steel that is additionally coated with nickel. We have carefully chosen the most commonly used tools – from screwdrivers and hexagons to properly sized wrenches.

To use hand tools, make sure that the NFC option on your device is available and turned on. Due to Android/iOS security settings, the device usually needs to be unlocked for NFC to be available. Tap your device on the NFC symbol located at the side (on the leg) of the bench. The toolbox doors will automatically open without the need to move them by hand.

Hand tools are located at the very left of the toolholder. Simply pull the wanted hand tool out of its holder. The safety cable on the hand tools is equipped with a brake on the retractable pulley. This way, the safety cable will stay out and won’t retract automatically while the brake is on. Once you are finished using hand tools, pull the safety cable once again towards yourself. This will unlock the brake so the retractable pulley will start retracting the safety cable and hand tools back in the holder. After the hand tool is properly retracted in its holder tap your device onto the NFC symbol to close the toolbox doors. In case you forget to close toolbox doors they will close automatically after 1 minute without any action. If the toolbox doors are not closing, it may be that one of the tools is not retracted properly in its holder. The LED screen will display the icon of the tool that is not retracted.

If toolbox doors are not opening after tapping your device to the NFC symbol it may be that you are not positioning the NFC antenna properly or that the bench’s battery is empty. To check the bench’s battery status find the battery indicator located next to the wireless charger (on the central seating beam). If two or fewer dots are lightning on the indicator the battery is on stand-by and some features may not be available.
